On 12 April, Street Kids International
will be attempting a Guinness World Record.
To claim this Guinness World Record, Kieran Porter will shine
over 200 pairs of shoes in 8 hours.
The aim of the attempt is to raise awareness of the millions of
young people forced by circumstances to earn a living on the
streets around the world.

Street Kids International sees the potential not the problem in
all young people. They support them to develop skills and
confidence, to start small businesses and to build better lives for
themselves.
On 12th April, Street Kids International needs you to
help them break the world record by joining them for 2 minutes
anytime between 8am and 4pm to have your shoes shined by the record
breaker. The record attempt takes place at Tower 42, 25 Old Broad
Street, London, EC2N 1HQ.
If you have 2 minutes free but are unable to make it to Tower
42, you can show your support by sending a photo of yourself shoe
shining to ukevents@streetkids.org.
Your photo will be added next to Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser
Chiefs and ex-Dragons Den Doug Richard in this online photo album
http://streetkidsuk.tumblr.com/.
Please remember to like Street Kids International on facebook and
tweet at Streetkidsuk #streetshine.
Street Kids are also looking for volunteers to help out on the
day. If you have a couple of hours free between 7.30am and 4.00pm
on 12th and you would like to show your support, please
email Emily@streetkids.org. They
will be incredibly grateful for any time you may be able to
offer."
